Justin Timberlake, Andy Samberg Reunite For ‘Motherlover’ On ‘SNL’

The 'D--- in a Box' duo's raunchy new clip already looks like a viral sensation.

Not like he needs the work, but maybe [artist id="1231683"]Justin Timberlake[/artist] should consider permanently joining the cast of “Saturday Night Live.” Just about every time the singer/actor takes the stage at 8H, he kills it. Over the weekend, Timberlake did it again, pairing up with pal Andy Samberg, host of this year’s MTV Movie Awards, for a sequel to their 2006 viral smash, “D— in a Box.”

“Motherlover,” the truly not-ready-for-prime-time premise of the clip — which was already being hailed as an instant classic by Sunday morning — finds the complicated-facial-hair-sporting new-jack duo fresh out of a five-month stint in prison. As they dump their wrapped boxes, they realize that they’ve forgotten Mother’s Day, so they devise a plan to pay the ultimate homage to their mommas.

Considering Samberg’s mom (played by Susan Sarandon) is a widow and Timberlake’s (played by Patricia Clarkson) is alone since his dad split, the paisley-loving pair come up with a genius plan over a lunch of greasy Philly steak sandwiches. “Hold up/ You thinking what I’m thinking/ I’m thinking I’m thinkin’ it too,” they croon to each other over the bouncy Timbaland-style beat. “Slow up/ What time’s it, dog?/ It’s time for a switcheroo/ We both love our moms/ Women with grown women needs/ I say we break ‘em off, show ‘em how much they really mean.”

And that’s when things get seriously weird and wrong, with a chorus that likely elicited gasps from coast to coast (and maybe even a call or two from Samberg’s and Timberlake’s own mothers). “I’m a motherlover, you’re a motherlover/ We should f— each other’s mothers,” the pair sing in perfect harmony, while peering over their designer shades at the camera. ” ‘Cause every Mother’s Day needs a mother’s night/ If doin’ it is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.”

Things get even more uncomfortable from then on, with talk about snapping digital photos of the alleged swap and the pair boasting, “They will be so surprised/ We are so cool and thoughtful.”

As the now-happy moms frolic in the park, go on a cruise and enjoy picnics and flowers from their new beaus, Timberlake — an avowed momma’s boy who often takes his ma, Lynn, to red carpet events — and Samberg go forehead-to-forehead to sing, “It would be my honor to be your new stepfather.”

The clip was directed by Samberg’s Lonely Island partners , Akiva Shaffer and Jorma Taccone, and was shot over a 20-hour period last week, according to Digital Short director of photography John Rosenblatt’s company, Rosey Media.

The “Motherlover” skit was just one of several moments that Timberlake raised eyebrows on the stand-out episode — including one in which he made a joking reference to his relationship with Britney Spears and another in which he played a rapping, singing breast implant that is fond of Lady Gaga songs.

I'm so fancy.
