She's known for being able to rock a high fashion designer dress as well as a scruffy ensemble.

And it seems Kristen Stewart opted for the latter type of get-up as she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday.

Despite her very laid-back outfit, though, the Twilight actress pulled it off and still managed to look rather cool.

The 24-year-old donned a pair of light blue baggy boyfriend jeans, which actually looked rather flattering on her slender frame despite their shape.

She teamed her denim with a simple white t-shirt with a knot at the bottom, a casual navy jacket and a pair of lace-up white sports shoes.

Accessorising her look with a baseball cap, sunglasses and a couple of necklaces, she finished her jet-set look with a large, utilitarian rucksack on her back.

Clearly not a diva, the Hollywood star pulled her own large suitcase behind her as she arrived in the Californian city.

And, as ever, she kept her short brunette tresses in a simple, easy style and her face make-up free.

Joined by assistant-turned best friend Alicia Cargile, it's thought they were returning from a brief getaway to Hawaii.

Kristen had enjoyed a very relaxed festive period with friends, laying low apart from stepping out for a dinner with pals in Los Angeles a couple of days after Christmas Day.

The actress was getting some personal time in the gap in her busy schedule in preparation for the upcoming release of her critically acclaimed new film Still Alice.

She co-stars as the daughter of a renowned linguistics professor, played by Julianne Moore, who is diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.

The role has proven to be a special one for Kristen, who recently revealed how the character was not that different from who she really is.

'There was no effort on my part to hide myself,' she told IndieWire.

'All I tried to do with this part was to find myself and show myself. The best way to service this character was to be there honestly, so all affectations were meaningless.I could just have my own.'

Still Alice will hit US cinemas on January 16, and will arrive in the UK in March.
