Looking ace! Serena Williams casts her pre Hopman Cup a nerves aside as she attends Players' Ball ... but shows off dodgy tennis sock tan in heels

She is gearing up for for the Hopman Cup tournament this coming week when she hopes to break something of a personal drought at the year's first Grand Slam.

But World No. 1 Serena Williams put her pre match nerves to one side as she partied at the Cup's Players' Ball in Perth on Saturday.

The 33-year-old looked effortlessly chic, showing off her toned and tanned legs in a salmon dress - but, unfortunately, her choice of foxy footwear inadvertently showed off her dodgy tennis sock tan line.

The lofty 5ft 9ins star donned a pretty peach dress to mingle with the tennis world's finest, including fellow American player John Isler and Australian competitor Casey Dellacqua.

She teamed her short-sleeved dress featuring a hemline that danced around her thighs with a pair of off-white heels and a thin black belt.

With her trainers and calf-high socks having kept her feet sheltered from the sun as she trains for the season, it's no wonder she has acquired unsightly tan lines.

However, always confident, she strutted the blue carpet in style she chatted to fellow tennis platers and fans with ease ahead of taking to the stage to discuss the competition, which begins on Sunday.

Serena was approached by an excitable fan during the event; Australian Bachelor Blake Garvey sharing a giddy selfie to his Instagram account.

Blake was at the event in his hometown with girlfriend Louise Pillidge, who he has been dating since dumping bachelorette Sam Frost a day after the show's finale aired.

Unable to resit taking a selfie with his idol, he snapped a shot on his phone and uploaded it to his Instagram account with the caption: 'Just meet inspiration personified- the one and only #hopmancup.'

Among Hopman Cup competitors at the event were several of Serena's competition, including Australia's Casey Dellacqua and Italy's Flavia Pennetta, who rank 29 and 13 respectively.

Her fellow American player John Isner also enjoyed the festivities, and was joined by his diminutive model girlfriend Madison McKinley.

Serena is out to break something of a personal drought at the year's first Grand Slam, which starts on January 19, having not won the Australian Open since beating Belgium's Justine Henin in the 2010 final.

She will also be aiming to record her 19th Grand Slam title in Melbourne and move into a clear second behind Steffi Graf's 22 wins, having joined Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova on 18 when she won the US Open in September.

The entertainment for the evening came in the form of 33-year-old Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian.

Guy, who has been hitting the gym, showed off his physique as he rolled up the sleeves of his skintight white shirt.

The Battle Scars singer also wore a navy and white tie, charcoal pants and black boots for the crooning session.
