She may have set tongues wagging about the status of her relationship before the New Year, but everything was back to normal for Lena Dunham over the weekend.

The Girls creator was spotted enjoying the winter sun as she headed out on a solo stroll in Brooklyn on Saturday.

She may be a fan of eclectic ensembles, but even the kooky star couldn't resist showing off her new Burberry handbag as she made her way to a chauffeured car.

Another accessory which stood out was the ring the 28-year-old wore on her wedding finger.

She first sparked speculation her boyfriend of two years, Jack Antonoff, had popped the question on December 28, when she posted a picture of herself on Instagram in which the piece of jewellery was clearly visible.

She made no reference to the ring, simply writing about her jacket in the accompanying caption: 'This jacket = my most beloved vintage find of 2014.'

MailOnline has contacted Dunham's representative for a comment.

The star had also seen sporting the bling on a chilly outing in New York on New Year's Eve.

The couple rang in 2015 together appeared to be having a blast together if the actress's social media is anything to go by.

The writer shared a series of snaps from the big night on her Instagram page, showing the two of them looking more loved-up than ever.

In one of the frames, the star is seen being held up by the Fun rocker in a playful pose.

Along with the romantic picture, she appeared to reminisce over the past year and how her beau had supported her throughout.

'Thank you @meta_porter for capturing my New Year's Eve dip from my great love @jackantonoff. Whenever I fell he caught me in 2014,' she wrote.

Another picture showed the pair getting silly for a selfie, the 30-year-old musician playfully pushing his face against her head, along with the caption 'freak love'.

The couple had celebrated the big night at the New Year's Eve party of Parenthood stars Mae Whitman and Miles Heizer, with the group of pals donning fun pairs of 2015 sunglasses for a series of pictures.

Earlier in the day, comical Lena had shared a photo of herself posing up a storm wearing a Kale shirt and figure-hugging leggings.

Lena had a busy 2014: as well as working on her hit programme - of which the fourth season is due to start in early January, she released her memoir Not That Kind Of Girl.

Although much of the feedback was positive, she found herself at the centre of a media storm when she was forced to deny she had sexually abused her sister after revealing she had looked at her one-year-old sibling Grace’s vagina out of curiosity when she was seven.

Lena cancelled two book tour events following the shocking accusations, which she called ‘f***ing upsetting and disgusting’.

However, despite the ups and downs of her past year, she ended on a high, having received two Golden Globe nominations for Girls, including Best Actress.

Girls returns to HBO on January 11, the same night as the awards ceremony.
