The 2015 Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas will be extended to include the Friday, which will focus on non-fiction and incorporate, for the first time, the History Festival of Ireland. Once again the weekend will be one of stimulating dialogue and discussion, gathering together intriguing international minds – historians, novelists, journalists, film-makers, poets, theatre directors, war correspondents, biographers, artists and political commentators. The Festival of Writing and Ideas has become known for its casual, friendly atmosphere, and for its extraordinary line up of speakers –and the beautiful setting of Borris House (and the spectacular village) in the Barrow Valley.

Among the 70-strong list of speakers will be writers Ian McEwan, Michael Cunningham, Belinda McKeon, Kevin Barry, Andrew O’Hagan, Antony Sattin, and Mary Costello. A strong line-up of musicians appearing at the festival will be announced shortly, as well as details of a number of theatre shows, high profile publishers workshops, and intriguing pool of leading historians…. and plenty of others.

The weekend pass does not include camping, although details of accommodation options will be announced shortly, including a variety of boutique pop-up bedrooms.
