Dita Von Teese adds some sex appeal to her LBD with racy lace panels... but ruins the look with Amal Clooney-style elbow-length gloves

On Monday she checked out her pal Alexis Mabille's show at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

And on Wednesday, Dita Von Teese was back on the front row as she checked out Elie Saab's Spring-Summer 2015 collection.

While the designs were the Lebanese fashion designer's usual visually stunning pieces, Dita, 42, ensured she stole some of the limelight when she arrived in a dramatic plunging black dress with racy lace inserts on the front and sides.

The design ensured maximum flesh was on show while still keeping it classy.

However, the addition of elbow length black gloves detracted from the simple LBD, giving the outfit an overly fussy look.

Dita is the latest star, following Pixie Lott's appearance at the National Television Awards last week, to emulate Amal Clooney by wearing elbow length gloves.

George's lawyer wife wore a white pair to the Golden Globes earlier this month.

Just a few days ago Dita shared her love for the designer on Instagram, by posting an old picture of herself being fitted for one of his haute couture designs, a stunning black glittering gown - complete with a veiled hat

'Flashback to a fitting with Elie Saab during Paris Haute Couture for a one of my performance costumes,' she wrote.

Go back to black in Dita's Elie Saab LBD

As we’ve witnessed by his latest haute couture offering this Paris Fashion Week, red carpet favourite Elie Saab is still all about the big show-stopping gowns with intricate lace and gem embellishments, two tone textures and those big kicked out skirt silhouettes. But lo and behold, the master of evening dresses is capable of conjuring up some less ostentatious frocks for us mere mortals, too.

And who better to demonstrate his slightly more pared back designs than the beautiful Dita Von Teese, who slipped her curves into one of Saab’s commercial dresses in the form of a black and lace plunging number for his spring/summer ’15 show.

The deep V plunge is designed to flatter the feminine silhouette and create the illusion of a smaller waist, not that Dita needs a help in hand in that area. The exact dress is now sold out, however, so you can buy a similar version with a click to the right at LuisaviaRoma for a now reduced $1637 - but hurry, because it's selling out fast.

If you're after a black lace dress for less, then don't fret, because there are some pretty spectacular options in our style edit below, starting from NLY's open back version at Nelly.com for $39.95. Style with black stilettos and slick of oxblood lippy for a vampy finish.

Last year, Dita - ex-wife of rocker Marilyn Manson - spoke with Vogue about how she approaches her style in everyday life.

'It always depends on the weather and my day,' she told the fashion bible. 'On a casual day, I usually go out and about in ballet flats and a dress or a voluminous fifties-style skirt with a slim-fitting T-shirt.

'It feels free, comfortable, and casual, yet still in keeping with my personal style. I love dresses because I can zip and go, no fussing around putting a look together.'

Of how she prepares mentally for her day ahead, she said: 'I do Pilates nearly every morning. Ideally I’d have sex too!'

Dita is a favourite of Saab, who has dressed her numerous times in the past, and Elie is notoriously strict about who gets to wear his designs.

Emilie Legendre, the brand's communications director, previously told fashionista.com: 'It all comes down to the image of the star. Who she is in terms of her career and as a person--we have to remember our customers and make sure that they won't be offended if we dress a certain type of celebrity.

'The codes of the brand are to be extremely feminine and glamorous so when we dress someone we need to make sure the DNA of the brand is in the woman we dress--it doesn't have to be someone who has been known for 20 years.'
