Hell for leather! The Veronicas' Jess and Lisa Origliasso dress to kill in tight-fitting dominatrix style ensembles as they reveal sneak peek of their new music video

Their new song Cruel is all about a spurned lover.

And Jess and Lisa Origliasso, the hitmakers behind The Veronicas, are out for revenge on the set of their upcoming music video.

The diminutive twins took a break from shooting scenes to give the Today show a sneak peek behind the scene glimpse of their latest project which is set in the swirling sands of the Mojave Dessert in California.

Dressed to kill in a skin-tight leather dress with a gaping open neckline, Jess, 30, certainly looks the part.

Her slender legs are display in the fierce, flesh-baring outfit as she teeters across the set - the same that formed the backdrop of horror flick The Devil's Rejects - in a towering pair of Jeffrey Campbell boots.

The beauty's long locks are tousled into a sultry, undone style and she wears lashings of jet-black mascara with a slick of flicked eyeliner.

While Jess embodies a more bombshell style, her sister Lisa goes full dominatrix in a choker style leather crop top embellished with buckles and straps.

She teamed the top with a pair of high-waisted pants and heavy workmen boots while her hair was tucked neatly behind her ears.

The twins go for a very cinematic, psychopathic feel in their new music video and draw inspiration from the works renowned directors of David Lynch and Quentin Tarantino.

Speaking to Today in a clip aired on Tuesday Jess says she loved getting into character on set.

'It's actually very fun dressing up and styling music videos, especially this kind of a music video because it has a story line we're playing very specific characters,' she explains.

'Yeah you can step out of your shoes and be someone else for a while,' agrees her sister.

'We're in this lovely dodgy motel [at the moment], it's set here, all of the scenes are set here we're about to shoot it next,' Lisa continues.

Jess adds: 'It's turned out really really cool, we're actually still shooting we just stopped for a minute to come have a chat - that's why Lisa looks really really cold and a little beat up!'

The girls also reveal that the day kicked off with a bit of a hitch with Jess confessing that they rocked up an incredible six hours behind schedule.

'On the way here our car broke down,' she says.

'We had to pull up to a gas station, get an Uber, get our car towed and then come to set, we were about six hours late.'

Despite the minor hardships, Jess was lucky to have her beau Josh Katz on set beside her and he shared a photo of the duo embracing between takes.

The behind the scenes look was very different from the dynamic between the duo last week when a tape showing them bickering when they thought the cameras had stopped rolling was released by KIISFM.

The singers were rehearsing a live performance when Lisa is seen telling Jess to make her part sound more 'airy' and is clearly frustrated by her sister who is unwell.

'Where is this? Are we doing the bridge?' a confused Jess asks, also unhappy with the situation.

Lisa quickly snaps back, muttering 'Good Lord,' when Jess fires back, angrily uttering: '"Good Lord?" F*** off!'
