National Championship Bidding

USA Track & Field offers one of the most comprehensive championships programs of any sport governing body in the United States. If you have not experienced one of USATF's championships programs, you will be in for a new and rewarding experience. Contained within these pages are descriptions of the process of, and timelines for, bidding for one or more of USATF's over 140 championship events in track and field, long distance running, and race walking. It's a program of which we are very proud.

Because of USATF's overall programs, thousands of athletes all over the country of a wide range of ages and abilities may compete in National Championships events. Dozens of communities, local sponsors, and competition officials and volunteers get involved with our programs. We hope that you are inspired to bid on a championship event, and that - in turn - you become a part of our program and share the experience of staging a national event.

The championships coordinator for the discipline for which you are bidding can assist you with your bid or answer questions.

Once a National Championship event is awarded, USATF's national staff will be available to assist with event sponsors to secure additional revenues where appropriate, negotiate contracts where necessary to protect your interests and ours, and provide additional services to the event from local Associations. Our Associations form a national network of athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters, and they can provide invaluable assistance to ensure the success of your event.

We look forward to receiving a bid application from you and your community, and to assisting you in presenting the best possible championships for our top-level member athletes. Thank you for your interest in USATF and its championships programs.
