The Keller Police Department strives to continue to meet the service needs of a fast-growing community with value driven, customer focused style of policing designed to improve the quality of life in Keller. The activities of the department include traffic safety and regulation, uniformed patrol, community services and education, crime control, animal services, public safety dispatch, and facility and equipment maintenance.

Chief of Police

Chief Hafner has more than 30 years of police experience. He holds both a bachelor's and master’s degree in Public Administration and also graduated from the FBI National Academy. He has served as the Chief of Police in Keller since 2001 and was appointed Public Safety Director/Chief of Police in 2012. Chief Hafner is the staff liaison to the Keller Crime Control & Prevention Board of Directors. He is currently the President of the Texas Police Chiefs Association, is a Past-President of the North Texas Police Chiefs Association (2007-2008), and a Past-President of the Keller Rotary Club (2007-2008).
