Family portrait! Patricia Arquette poses with her on-screen son Ellar Coltrane and Ethan Hawke from Boyhood in Santa Barbara

They've been attending endless events and awards shows over the last few months, not to mention 12 years they spent together making the film Boyhood.

So it's not wonder that Patricia Arquette, Ellar Coltrane and Ethan Hawke seem to operate like a tight close-knit group.

On Thursday evening the trio attended the 30th Santa Barbara International Film Festival at the Arlington Theatre, and posed proudly for photographers.

Later this month, Patricia could see herself walk home with her first Oscar for the role in the critically acclaimed movie.

Patricia looked classy in a tight-fitting blue dress, while Ethan and Ellar both looked dapper.

The 46-year-old actress, mother to son Enzo, 26, and daughter Harlow, 12, recently revealed in an interview that after becoming a parent at 20, she noticed a change in her sexual urges, which has continued over time.

'Sexual drive at 46 is different,' she told The Guardian's G2. 'We don't have that urge to procreate, that animal drive. But if you're a parent, whether you're 40 or 25, the first thing that leaves is your sexual drive.

'It's not a necessity to survive, so if you're totally exhausted and tapped out, that will be the first thing. But I think if you're rested and the kids are OK, it comes back pretty fast.'

Patricia, who counts Nicolas Cage and Thomas Jane as ex-husbands and is now in a relationship with Eric White, added that a solid relationship often helps with bringing the desire back.

'If you feel loved, funny and attractive to your mate, I think those things come back,' she explained. 'Women feel sexier if they're in a healthy relationship with someone who treats them well.'

During the interview, she also touched on the unrealistic expectations placed on actresses when it comes to their looks.

'There really is a lot of pressure on actresses to look a strange and unrealistic way,' she said. 'You're supposed to be perpetually incredibly attractive because that's the way the move world is.

'You might be 50 but you need to talk 35. Frankly, there is no shorter shelf life, other than that of a child actor, than that of the ingénue.
