She's gone platinum! Lady Gaga oozes glamour in plunging silver gown as she hits the Grammys red carpet

She never fails to make a statement with her unique style.

But Lady Gaga opted for old school glamour as she shimmered in a plunging metallic gown at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

The 28-year-old pop diva was accompanied by her handsome collaborator 88-year-old Tony Bennett.

Her gown - a custom Brandon Maxwell - displayed maximum cleavage and a seductive thigh-split showed plenty of leg.

Gaga's locks were a silvery platinum blonde to compliment her dress and for more shimmer she sported metallic grey eye-shadow and lashings of eyeliner.

Lorraine Schwartz emerald jewelry completed her ensemble for classic Hollywood elegance.

Gaga and Bennett's duet album, Cheek to Cheek, won best traditional pop vocal album and E! host Ryan Seacrest was the first to congratulate the pair.

'Thank you so much, we're so happy!' Gaga exclaimed as they hit the red carpet before the ceremony.

Bennett also explained how the two very different artists have bonded over the last year, saying: 'We get along great. We're both Italian-Americans and we understand one another.'

In a rather awkward moment just minutes later, Gaga blanked host Giuliana Rancic when the presenter yelled 'Hello Lady Gaga!', and glided straight past surrounded by her huge entourage.

According to Us Weekly Brit crooner Ed Sheeran hilariously tweeted during the evening's proceedings: 'I love @ladygaga. Spoke to her earlier and she mistook me for a waiter. Gotta love the #GRAMMYs. #INeedANewSuit? Aha,'

Gaga and Bennett will be taking to the stage to perform during the evening among a host of other stars.

The 57th Annual event held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles has made room for the biggest divas in the music industry today, including Beyonce, Madonna and Gwen Stefani to name but a few.

The event will see approximately 70 awards handed out to recipients in front of a star-studded crowd.

Beyonce, Sam Smith and Pharrell are the Grammy leaders with six nominations apiece. The show will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

'Throughout the years, the Grammy Awards has paired musical icons with new, upcoming artists to give fans remarkable performances that can only be seen on our stage,' Recording Academy President and CEO Neil Portnow said in a statement.

'This year is no different and, once again, promises to bring together unique musical worlds in innovative ways that blend genres and create new artistic boundaries.'
