He recently joked that he has turned into a taxi driver for his children since retiring from football.

But it appears as if David Beckham has found himself a new career as a paparazzo as the 39-year-old hunk stepped out in London last week with daughter Harper where he couldn't resist snapping pictures of the cute tot.

While Harper, three, ran ahead laughing, David took a number of snaps of her with his impressive digital camera.

Harper, whose mother is fashion designer Victoria, looked sweet in a furry coat with shoes.

And David, who is no slouch in the fashion department was handsome in black jeans and a black coat, along with a grey scarf and trainers.

Despite the dull February day he wore sunglasses and looked utterly delighted to be spending some quality time with Harper.

When David wasn't taking pictures of his little princess, the duo walked along together holding hands.

Along with Harper, David and Victoria have sons Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 12 and nine-year-old Cruz.

And although he loves all his children equally, David admitted that having a daughter is like nothing he ever expected.

'To have a daughter is a whole different thing,' he previously said. 'I'm not saying I love my daughter more, but the boys are independent.'

When asked how he will cope when Harper eventually starts to date, David joked, 'She's not going out. She's going to be like Rapunzel — up in the tower.'

She may be the youngest member of the family but Harper has a mind of her own and David has admitted in the past that getting her ready to go out in the mornings can take some time as she is so strong-willed.

'[Harper] gets her outfit ready the night before and then she gets up in the morning, we go down to get her ready and she changes her mind,' the athlete said on The Jonathan Ross Show.

He added, 'Then I'm in the room with Harper trying to pick out an outfit and anything which I pick out, which I think looks great, she puts back in.'

And Harper often picks out his clothes, with David explaining: 'All little girls are like this, honestly it's amazing to watch.

'She'll come in and she'll want to put my belt on or she'll want to dress me or she'll say 'Daddy wear these shoes with that', it's amazing actually.'

But it's not just outfits Harper has strong opinions on, the tot isn't afraid to criticise her dad.

Speaking to chat show host Jimmy Kimmel, David joked that Harper's comments have made him worry about his shape.

He said: ''I was bathing Harper and had got her out and was toweling her down when she said: 'Daddy I love you but I don't like you, you're so chubby!' I didn't think I was but.....!'

Although he is a world-class footballer with an OBE from Britain's Queen Elizabeth, David admitted that his sons are embarrassed by him so he does everything he can to make them self-conscious.

Speaking about bringing Brooklyn to school, he said: 'He asked me to park around the corner and he would walk round but I followed him and opened the window and shouted, 'Brooklyn I love you!'.'

David also revealed he gave Romeo a huge bear hug in front of his friends when he refused to kiss him and added: 'Victoria reminded them they had a cool dad but it made no difference.'

Beckham has retired from football and while he has been keeping busy modelling and promoting his new line of whisky, The Haig Club, he joked he sees himself a a taxi driver for the family.

He said: 'I'm keeping busy. I've become a taxi driver overnight. I'm like an Uber driver. From 7.30 in the morning I have dropoffs at four different schools. I pick Harper up at 12 then the boys at 4. Then the boys all train in a soccer academy every single night of the week until 9.30pm. To be honest it's great.'
