State of the Map 2013

the OpenStreetMap event: 6-8 September 2013

Photo Competition

Posted by  robjn  Aug 19, 2013

In our bid paper for State of the Map 2013, we discussed the idea of a world-wide “Most unusual object / sign / situation found whilst surveying” photo competition. Today we are kicking off this competition, and the rules cannot be simpler:

  • The competition is open to all – you do not need to attend State of the Map 2013.
  • Entry is by means of a photograph, which must have been taken in the last 12 months and cannot have won any previous competitions.
  • You must be the sole copyright owner of the photograph, and by submitting the photograph you agree to allow OpenStreetMap to display the image on it's websites.
  • Only one entry per person.

You may upload your photo direct to the OpenStreetMap wiki, or add a link to it in the comments below, or email it to with subject line “Competition”. Please note, the SOTM team are working on a small prize for this competition and will confirm it shortly. Don't expect too much - see this as a bit of fun!

The deadline is 23:59 GMT on Friday 6th September (the end of day one of SOTM 2013) so you will need to act quickly. For the sake of SOTM volunteers, please try not to leave it to the last day.
