During his contentious few weeks on the most recent series of Celebrity Big Brother, Perez Hilton was crowned 'Britain's most hated man' after falling out with most of his housemates.

But on Sunday, the blogger - real name Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr - was in doting daddy mode as he was reunited with his one-year-old son, Mario Armando Lavandeira III, in New York City.

Perez, 36, and his adorable offspring were seen playing on the swings, trudging through the snow and enjoying a shoulder ride along the sprawling Manhattan space's paths during their fun day out.

And, as a reflection of the times, the father-son duo also flashed their biggest smiles as they posed together for a selfie.

For the excursion, Perez wrapped up in a black padded jacket, teamed with green jeans and an eye-catching pair of Adidas x Jeremy Scott Teddy Bear Shoes.

His son, who celebrates his second birthday on February 16, was wrapped up even warmer, wearing gloves and a fluffy hat with his hooded jacket and grey combat trousers.

Little Mario was conceived with a donor egg and carried by a surrogate mother, whose identity he has not revealed.

Days before his park trip with his son, Perez was evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house, narrowly missing out on being in Friday's final, won by Katie Price.

In a subsequent appearance on Loose Women, he insisted that producers cleverly edited footage of him to ensure he came across in a negative light.

Despite falling foul of almost all his housemates during his appearance on the Channel 5 hit, Perez claimed that he was 'naive' about how his 'court jester' routine would be perceived.

Reunited on the show with fellow former CBB contestant Nadia Sawalha, he explained: 'I was naive enough to think that the show I was editing in my head, was the show they were showing. I’ve never done a reality show before.

'Every time I did something that Nadia disagreed with she told me about it, I don’t know if people saw that. I regret, not actions in the house, but regret forever entering.

Knowing the experience now, knowing what I’ve seen coming out of it. I wish I could go back in time and not do it. I am a big child, I’m a parent but I’m a big child and I am naive and I thought, "Gosh people are going to see me being fun and silly."

'I am happy choosing the path of silly, court jester, fool, idiot than choosing the path of Katie Hopkins who said mean hurtful things to so many people in the house and so many people behind their backs.'

When asked to explain allegations he repeatedly taunted housemates, especially when he was caught on camera deliberately coughing besides Alexander O'Neal's bed, he quipped: 'This goes to show you that they don’t show everything.

'The diary room is supposed to be there for you whenever you need it. They don’t put a timeframe on it. For three weeks I couldn’t barely sleep in the house.'

However, the father-of-one admits he was most upset by the backlash Nadia received for sticking by him.

'One of the things that did disappoint me when I got in the outside world was hearing and seeing some of the negative reactions that she [Nadia] got for having a good heart, choosing the path of kindness,' he added.
