Embracing hippie chic! Elsa Pataky reveals she now dresses with a more relaxed style after move from Hollywood to Byron Bay Down Under

She dressed up as a hippie for a New Year's Eve party, and it seems the costume might have inspired Elsa Pataky's style.

Writing on her blog on Spain's Glamour Magazine website the 38-year-old described the way her style has been inspired since moving to Byron Bay last year.

'It’s a town that has a special energy – it’s full of artists and very creative people, and very hippie!'

'People don’t follow a specific style here – everyone wears clothes that they identify with. 

'As there is a tropical climate and a hippie lifestyle, you often see people walking barefoot on the street,' also adding: 'I was quite surprised at first, but now even I walk barefoot sometimes!'

She says by walking around barefoot the people believe they are more connected to the earth.

'In several shops I’ve found clothes by local designers, which I like to mix and match with well-known brands that I already use. 

'On the first Sunday of the month there is a market selling clothes and accessories, and I’ve found gorgeous dresses, hats and handbags.'

Posting four photos with the post to show a variety of outfits, Elsa does rock chic but adds a hippie element with a band muscle T-shirt paired with a long black and gold folk-style skirt with combat boots.

In another snap she wears a blue playsuit with brown boots with a fringed black bag.

Another photo shows her looking beach ready with a red bikini top on underneath a brown sheer cover up which is worn with a black and white full length leopard print skirt, a brown boater style hat, what appears to be black boots and layered necklaces.

Holding one of her twins she poses looking away from the camera in a loose red printed white blouse with denim shorts and a black wide brimmed hat.  

Elsa moved to Byron bay with her husband Chris Hemsworth, 31, and their three children India Rose, two, and twins Sacha and Tristan who will celebrate their first birthday in March.
