She's a real fairy godmother! Rihanna shares a tender moment with Blue Ivy as they hug at the Grammys

In her enormous ruffled gown, she looked like every little girl's princess fantasies come to life.

And Rihanna certainly proved to be a fairy godmother as she shared a tender moment with Blue Ivy.

Spotting the three-year-old the singer immediately crouched down and embraced the youngster, the daughter of her friends Beyonce and Jay Z.

It was surely the first Grammy show for the youngster, who shared in her superstar mother's pre-show preparations.

Indeed, according to E! Online Blue Ivy stood in the center of Queen B's prayer circle as she prepped for her show-ending performance with Common and John Legend.

Beyonce even mentioned her daughter in her acceptance speech, mentioning that she was in the audience.

'I'd like to thank my beloved husband. I love you deep,' she gushed. 'My daughter who's watching, Blue, I love you.'

Meanwhile Rihanna was certainly enjoying her showing off her pink frock, which she told Ryan Seacrest she bought 'on the internet' after spotting it and 'falling in love'.

And while fashion pundits may not have been entirely impressed, Rihanna found new popularity in the preschool set.

Another fan of the Giambattista Valli dress was Jamie Foxx's daughter Annalise Bishop, who the 26-year-old posed with for a picture.

Be the belle of the ball in Giambattista Valli

Rihanna sure does know how to make an entrance! The talented songstress is not afraid to take risks when it comes to fashion, and tonight it definitely paid off. She chose a rose colored tiered ball gown from Giambattista Valli's Haute Couture line and made this one of her most memorable red carpet appearances yet.

The style icon award winner loves to show off her flawless skin and multiple tattoos in crop tops, sheer frocks, and backless numbers, so it was refreshing to see the Fourfiveseconds singer all covered up, but still serving major sex appeal.

Rihanna's designer of choice is no stranger to red carpet dressing. His lavish looks have been worn by a countless number of A-listers including Lena Dunham and Lupita Nyong'o.

This couture creation isn't readily available to the public. But we've got some Cinderella inspired gowns in our edit to make up for the loss. Starting at around $100 this is an excellent investment for your next big event.

Squeezing the five-year-old's cheek, it certainly looked as if Rihanna was enjoying playing the princess.

It was a good night for the star, who was already a winner after it was announced pre-ceremony that her song Monster with Eminen had won Best Rap Collaboration.

She went on to take to the stage for her debut performance of new collaboration FourFiveSeconds with Paul McCartney and Kanye West.

The Grammys will be on UK TV on Monday 9 February at 9pm on 4Music (Freeview 18, Sky 360 and Virgin 330).
