He cut a fairly scruffy figure as he attended a photocall for new movie, Life, in Berlin on Monday, but what a difference a few hours makes.

Robert Pattinson, 28, smartened up his look to attend the premiere of the movie later that evening, held at the 65th Berlinale International Film Festival.

Wearing a double-breasted grey suit with a contrasting claret coloured tie, the Twilight star looked incredibly handsome as he walked the red carpet.

Say cheese: The star was mobbed by excitable fans who clamoured for a selfie with their idol

He kept out the cold with a smart black overcoat as he answered questions from journalists as he prepared to make his way inside the venue.

The heart throb happily obliged a few fans who asked for selfies, as they clamoured for his attention, waving pens and mobiles in the air.

Co-star Dane DeHaan had also scrubbed up a treat on the night wearing a smart suit and bow tie.

The pair were at the Grand Hyatt Hotel earlier on in the day, to attend a photocall for the same movie, but their appearance was slightly more low-key.

With his hair artfully moulded, bearded actor Robert looked a little scruffy but still cool in a black and white jacket which he wore with black jeans tucked into military style boots.

Life, slated for release on September 25, tells the story of photographer, Dennis Stock [Pattinson], who is assigned to shoot pictures of James Dean for Life magazine.

He stars alongside fellow actor Dane, who plays legendary Dean, who was also rocking a casual look on the day, wearing a patterned black shirt, with jeans and smart boots.

Meanwhile, Variety is reporting that Robert is set to join Mia Wasikowska and Guy Pearce in upcoming thriller Brimstone.

The movie tells the tale of a young 19th century woman [Wasikowska] on the run from a diabolical preacher [Pearce].

Pattinson, who is currently dating singer FKA twigs, will play 'an outlaw who has a crucial influence on this tale of retribution.

Carice van Houten also has been added to the cast list of the movie of writer-director Martin Koolhoven.

Filming is set to star in May according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Berlin Film Festival has attracted huge names on the bill, with Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, Natalie Portman and Maisie Williams all in town on the same day.
