Marc Anthony buys $4m mansion as a wedding present for third wife Shannon... after ex J Lo lists marital home for $17m

Marc Anthony married model Shannon de Lima last November in an intimate ceremony in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

The 46-year-old singer may have also been thinking conservatively when he shelled out $4.125 million on a new abode in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley for them both to live in.

With six children to support and two ex-wives, Jennifer Lopez the more famous one, Marc didn't need to explain why this 6,590-square-foot, New England-style mansion seemed so appealing.

The two-story house that Marc bought is nestled in the neighbourhood of Tarzana, and comes with five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms, according to TMZ.

It's certainly a charmer with white clapboard siding, black shutters, a brick driveway and a roomy four-car garage, and his beautiful 26-year-old bride Shannon should love the huge walk-in closet.

The modest-looking front includes rows of low green hedges, a small covered porch below an upper gallery where Marc and Shannon can wave to guests as they come and go.

Not far away in the exclusive enclave of Hidden Hills lies the sprawling 17,129-square-foot mansion that he once shared with Jennifer, who quietly placed it on the market last month for $17 million.

The American Idol judge and Marc bought the home in 2010 for $8.2 million as a place to raise their twins Emme and Maximillian, who turn seven years old on February 22.

When their divorce was final on June 18, Jennifer retained primary physical custody of the children and the Hidden Hills mansion.

It is considerably more posh than the one Marc purchased for Shannon, boasting nine bedrooms and 13 bathrooms on three acres of lushly landscaped land including a pool to die for.

Marc is turning into quite the real estate mover and shaker, as he's also just listed the red brick, 10,084-square-foot spread in Long Island, New York that he once shared with Lopez for $12 million, according to Newsday.

The Vivir Mi Vida crooner, whose net worth is more than $20 million, proposed to Shannon last spring and they said 'I do' on November 11, 2014 in front of a small group of close friends and family.
