The bride, named on social media as Theresa Egan, was standing outside the Firkin Doghouse pub in Plymouth, Devon, when Google Street View captured her on her big day in August 2012. With the sound of slot machines blurring out the noise, more than 4,000 pounds of explosives were used to demolish a Las Vegas hotel before sunrise Tuesday. The 12-story Clarion casino-hotel, which opened its doors in 1970 and was briefly owned by actress Debbie Reynolds, became the 13th hotel to gain implosion infamy in Sin City. However, despite the high-power blast, one tower remained standing on the end of the building and a second demolition job is expected.

Initially three lionesses attacked three young males who were feeding on the carcass of a gnu. In the frenzy, one of the males was specifically targeted and left severely injured on the floor. From the resulting noise, another male was alerted to the wounded lion and moved in for the kill. One of the original attacking lionesses (inset) then defended the wounded big cat by landing a huge right paw to the lion's face. The images were taken by French photographers Laurent Renaud and Dominique Haution while on safari in the Masaï Mara National reserve, Kenya.
