'I would have to be Karlie Kloss's size to fashion model': Robyn Lawley hits back at sizeist industry... as heavily pregnant beauty prepares to give birth

She's days away from giving birth but model and Sports Illustrated 2015 recruit Robyn Lawley has hit back after being labelled plus-size, despite being a size 12.

Appearing on Access Hollywood on Monday the 25-year-old, who has been pigeon-holed as plus-size by the notoriously sizeist fashion industry, spoke out: 'I understand the outrage because I wish more girls could model at their regular size, a eight, a ten or a 16.

'I don't understand why it is so one size only.'

The six foot two Australian glamazon has tried to move away from the 'plus-size' label after working in the industry for years, preferring instead to champion size diversity.

The lofty U.S-based beauty says early on in her career she was happy to fall into the plus-size category when she couldn't get booked as a 'fashion' model and was just grateful to be working.

However, later on Robyn realised the damning affect of labels and the positive impact of loving your natural size.

'I tried doing straight size modeling and I think people don't realise that the fashion world is so extreme,' said Robyn.

'Karlie Kloss is my height and I would have to be Karlie Kloss's size to actually fashion model, which I think is a size four or zero to four.

'Measurements are in the thirties, you have to have a 34-inch hip and I have a 42-inch hip. There was no way I could ever get to that size.'

The turning point for Robyn, who is candid about suffering from eating disorders and other issues at the start of her career, was finding an agent who accepted her size and shape.

Since then she has graced the covers of Vogue Italia, Elle France, Australia Vogue and GQ Australia.
