Geraldo Rivera to take on Leeza Gibbons in Celebrity Apprentice final as Vivica A Fox is sent home

The Celebrity Apprentice came down on Monday to a battle between the TV hosts - and maybe the magic of Harry Potter.

After Donald Trump's sudden firing of four contestants last week, he quickly also dismissed Vivica A Fox from the show leaving veteran newsman Geraldo Rivera to battle it out with entertainment show host Leeza Gibbons in the final.

And in the finale dubbed 'Lovely Leeza versus Hurricane Geraldo', the Fox News host decided to dress as Harry Potter in the hope he would summon the magic to win the season that  will be decided live on Monday.

The finalists had to produce a commercial for Universal Orlando and also make a live presentation of it at a red carpet event.

Geraldo decided to play himself in his ad - but then turning into the beloved boy wizard to win over families.

Leeza, meanwhile, was pursuing a far more typical plot with a family enjoying the resort's myriad entertainments.

The TV hosts had both hugged and walked away from the boardroom arm-in-arm when told that they were to go up against one another for the season win and $750,000 prize for their chosen charity - but stressed their friendship would not hold them back.

'I respect you,' Leeza told Geraldo, saying they have 'known each other for forever and a day'.

'But I'm going to go as hard as I can against you, and I expect the same,' she added.

Later, after praising Leeza as 'a very formidable appoint', Geraldo stressed: 'She has to same the same things about me. I've been in a lot of big fights. I always answer the bell, and I'm a tough guy to knock down.'

But their very different leadership styles were very evident as they worked with former teammates previously fired from the show.

Leeza found herself helped by Kevin Jonas, Brandi Glanville, and Johnny Damon, with them all full of praise, telling her how 'people love you'.

She kept her cool even when Brando and Johnny rode roller coasters when they should have been shopping.

'I'm here for Leeza because I've never met a more kind, genuine person,' Brandi said. 'She's inspirational, aspirational - she's never once not given 100 percent. Leeza will kill this.'

Geraldo, on the other hand, found himself face-to-face again with some of those he had clashed with on the show, with former foes Ian Ziering and Lorenzo Lamas joining Vivica in coming back to help him.

'Lorenzo and Ian, two of the guys I butted heads with,' Geraldo said later. 'It was almost as if Trump was playing a joke on me.'

But there were no shortage of former enemies for him - with Kevin Jonas also admitting his main motivation for coming back and helping Leeza was to 'crush' the television reporter.

And Geraldo was soon up to his old tricks, annoying his helpers by completely dictating the creative process for his commercial - and then ignoring the shoot list they wrote up for the filming schedule to instead just do his own thing.

'Vivica and I went to a lot of trouble to make a shot list that tells a story,' Lorenzo explained, adding that 'Vivica was p***ed!'

'It's like whatever they did doesn't matter because he's here to save the day,' Ian added.

Vivica later admitted she 'definitely thought we were going to be in trouble', but added: 'Geraldo finally chilled out and allowed Lorenzo to direct. So hopefully it's going to make the rest of the day go by a lot smoother.'

But it appears she spoke too soon as Geraldo flipped out when he realized nobody had called ahead to get the child actors needed for filming to get to the right location on time.

'I saw right then that I had to take control,' Geraldo said later, in a move that is bound to increase the tension in his team.

He was seen angrily telling Lorenzo: 'From now on I'm in charge of every shot, I'm sorry. This is bulls***!'

Geraldo also appeared to be struggling to find a live performer for his big final presentation of their pitch, telling Ian they 'might have to sing ourselves', while Leeza had the clear upper hand after Olivia Newton John agreed to fly in to sing her song Magic.

Leeza also said she has a very personal motivation to win the $750,000 grand prize for her charity, Leeza's Care Connection.

'My mum and my grandmum both died of Alzheimer's disease,' she said.

The night had actually started with three contestants in the boardroom - but with Vivica effectively admitting she should be fired first.

After telling Trump that she felt Geraldo and Leeza were equally matched, she shocked him by admitting she should be fired if it came to a choice between her and Leeza.

'I've never lied to you, I've always been honest,' Vivica stressed.

Getting emotional, she added: 'It hurts. But I'm an honest woman.'

'I know I've put my best foot forward, I've done good and I've won some tasks for my charity. She's a good woman. I would be OK with that. If I lose to her I don't feel I've lost,' she concluded.

'I don't think I've ever had anyone say that to me,' Trump admitted.

'In one way I hate that you're saying that, in another way I have great admiration,' he told her.

He soon put his sentiment aside and said: 'You did a fantastic job. Vivica you're fired.'
