Do you need Nicole to sort out your wardrobe? Newly-single Lewis Hamilton cuts a solemn figure as he steps out in bizarre brightly-coloured Hawaiian jacket

He's newly-single after his long-term relationship with Nicole Scherzinger came to an end.

And Lewis Hamilton cut a notably glum figure as he stepped out in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday, although he looked to be trying to brighten his mood with a rather bizarre outfit.

The British sporting icon certainly caught the eye as he chatted away on his phone, wearing a Hawaiian print-style jacket that perhaps should have stayed at home.

Looking sombre despite the glorious sunshine, the 30-year-old wore his khaki and orange floral cover-up over a cream jumper.

Clearly going for a particular look, he finished off his look with black tracksuit bottoms, hi-top brown shiny trainers, a fedora and a pair of sunglasses.

The Formula 1 champ recently split from singer Nicole after seven years of on-off romance, but this time it appears to be the final straw for the pair.

They called time on their union due to the pressures of a long-distance relationship, and the former Pussycat Dolls star is said to be 'heartbroken and devastated'.

She also recently revealed that she and Lewis still love each other, despite it being their fourth break-up.

'I love Lewis and he loves me,' she said, in an interview with The Sun's Dan Wootton just one day after their split was made public.

'We wish nothing but happiness and the very best for one another. I'm trying to stay strong in my faith right now,' she added.

A source close to the star told MailOnline: 'It was a mutual decision. The long distance kept them apart for long periods of time.'

But another source hasn't ruled out a reconciliation between the two.

'It's been seven years now, and it's always the same reason that splits them up,' the second source said. 'Love always brings them back together.'

Last week, Lewis addressed the split on his Twitter page, thanking his fans for their messages during this difficult transitional period.

'Hi everyone. I want to thank you all for the love & support during this tough time,' he wrote on Friday.

'It means the world to me. #TeamLH #bestfansintheworld.'

Despite the apparent friendliness between the two stars, though, a source alleged to the paper that part of the reason for their latest split was due to a series of rows over the festive period.

In addition, Nicole also hinted at struggling with the a relationship to the Daily Telegraph just last week, explaining: 'I have made sacrifices. I've left LA, left all my friends and my family. It's sacrificing your time in relationships, with loved ones...'
