Dakota Johnson is swarmed by fans as she lands in Berlin for the Fifty Shades Of Grey premiere... as critics call for 'more realistic' sex scenes

She's the lead actress in the most anticipated film of the year so far, so it's no surprise to see Dakota Johnson being swarmed by fans.

The Fifty Shades Of Grey star was spotted signing autographs as she arrived in Berlin ahead of the premiere at the annual film festival in the German capital.

Wearing a striped top, a sheepskin-lined coat over her shoulders with sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat, Dakota, 25, looked every bit the Hollywood star.

Johnson plays Anastasia Steele in the film, and recently named her favourite sex scene with Jamie Dornan's Christian Grey.

The actress has admitted that her top bit of love-making was when her character Anastasia Steele loses her virginity to Christian Grey.

Her confession comes as the reviews suggest the film, based on E.L. James's bestselling 'mummy-porn' novel, could have done with more realistic sex.

'The virginity scene I think is something that is so beautiful,' Dakota told Access Hollywood.

'And the way that [cinematographer] Seamus [McGarvey] and [director] Sam [Taylor-Johnson] shot that scene – it's really incredible.'

She added: 'And the colors! It's so saturated and then, just watching a really profound moment in a young girl's life. I think that was pretty special to do.'

'Pretty' certainly seems to be the word to describe the film as critics have complained that there wasn't enough nudity or evidence of the throes of passion.

One critic pointed out that sex only makes up 15 minutes of the two-hour runtime. Another pointed out that there are no visible genitals, no orgasms - and not that much nudity.

            THE REVIEWS ARE IN

David Ehrlich, Time Out New York

'Fifty Shades may not make you come, but you’ll still be glad you went.'

Sara Stewart, New York Pos

'The film never pretends to be other than what it really is: soft-core porn for the ladies, diluted with an R rating.'

Justin Chang, Variety

'The final half-hour or so is punishing in more than just a literal sense, bringing us to a less-than-scintillating cliffhanger in the now de rigueur manner of book-based, fan-driven franchise fare.'

Sheri Linden, The Hollywood Reporter

'It’s a slow build to the smutty bits, and one that’s disappointingly devoid of tension.'

Eric Kohn, Indiewire

'Most viewers will be seeking a safe word to escape this two-hour-plus mess of half-baked excess.'

Kim Kardashian West, Twitter

'Girls night watching a private screening of Fifty Shades of Grey!!!!!! OMG it's sooooo good!!!!!'

Writing in USA Today, critic Claudia Puig said bluntly: 'Those looking for hot, kinky sex will be disappointed. Fewer than 15 of the movie's 125 minutes feature sex scenes.

'Discussion of contracts and objections over line items outweigh erotica. Even the graphic nudity grows numbing.'

In Entertainment Weekly, freelance critic Lisa Schwarzbaum particularly noted Dorman's lack of on-screen exposure.

'Nobody in the movie has visible genitals', she said. 'Christian in particular seems to do a whole lot of stuff in the playroom with his shirt off but his pants on, which cannot be comfortable for such an active young man.

'But even more frustrating to voyeurs, nobody sweats, nobody strains, nobody loses control or even fakes losing control by simulating an orgasm.'

Though the criticism of the sex scenes is more than apparent, Dakota has been praised for her portrayal of Ana. The Guardian's Jordan Hoffman writes: 'Johnson’s Ana squeezes believability out of one of the more silly romantic entanglements in recent popular culture.'

While Elizabeth Weitzman of New York Daily News says director Sam Taylor-Johnson and screenwriter Kelly Marcel 'earned points just for cutting the novel's many excesses.'
