When Miss Trunchbull's away... Matilda co-stars Mara Wilson and Kiami Davael snap reunion selfie 19 years after film's release
Since its 1996 release, the big screen adaptation of Roald Dahl's Matilda has lived on in the hearts of children and adults the world over - but it also appears to have sparked a life-long friendship.
Mara Wilson, who played the title character in the fantasy children's film, recently teamed up with her co-star Kiami Davael to take a smiling selfie, affirming their ongoing bond.
Kiami, who played Matilda's pal Lavender in the comedy, uploaded the shot - showing the two pals grinning as they rested their heads together - to her Instagram account over the weekend.

She captioned the reunion shot: 'Lunch date shenanigans with my sis from another miss, Mara. #LoveHer #LavenderAndMatilda #BFF #WeStillHangTough #AnyNegativityWillGetYouBlocked'.
In the movie, the then-child actresses played pupils at Crunchem Hall school, who faced a relentless reign of terror from headmistress Agatha Trunchbull, portrayed by Pam Ferris.
The children are eventually vindicated as Matilda realises her telekinetic powers and helps take down the Mrs Trunchbull in favour of a new, much kinder school principal.

Since the movie, Mara, 27, and Kiami, 28, went on to enjoy lives away from the screen, both entering adulthood as university students.
Mara, who made her big screen debut in another memorable hit - Mrs Doubtfire, alongside Robin Williams - embarked on a career as a playwright after studying at new York University.
In a post on her blog Mara Wilson Writes Stuff in 2012, she explained of her decision to step away from life in front of the camera.
Big beginnings: Mara made her big screen debut in another hit, Mrs Doubtfire, alongside Robin Williams
'Film acting is not very fun,' she wrote. 'Doing the same thing over and over again until, in the director's eyes, you "get it right", does not allow for very much creative freedom.
'The best times I had on film sets were the times the director let me express myself, but those were rare.'
She also took to her blog to mourn the August death of her Mrs Doubtfire co-star Robin Williams, writing: 'Robin Williams, as I knew him, was warm, gentle, expressive, nurturing, and brilliant.
'While it can be hard for me to remember filming Doubtfire, I’ve been flooded with memories in the past few days. It’s humbling to know I am one of the few people who was there for these moments, that he’s no longer around to share them.'
