Lots of investment products these days come with hedges. Why shouldn’t a marriage?
That’s what a prenuptial agreement is all about, say its advocates. But critics counter that prenups spoil the romance, and worse: They force partners to look at one another skeptically, with suspicion even, and loosen the bonds of marriage.
What do you think? Should all couples sign prenuptial agreements? (Results and excerpted comments will be published in a future Wall Street Journal article.)
Not required, but strongly recommended especailly for second marriages where either party has children.
Billionaires with their own legal team have had prenups tossed out on the whim of a judge. It will only be legally binding if the judge handling your case wants to let it be.
I have a problem with the wording of the poll. "Should prenuptial agreements be a requirement for couples?" What does "required" mean? Does that mean that couples are forced to have one or they cannot marry? Every couple should definitely have one, to spell out property matters in the event of a divorce and property matters in the event of premature death. It is especially necessary for people who have been married previously. But "required'? Absolutely not!
