Hilary Duff heated up Hollywood during a shopping trip on Monday with torn jeans and a bright yellow purse.

Recently returned from Sweden where she's been working on new music, the busy actress and singer offset the trendy ripped denim with a black shirt tucked into the waistband and a large floppy black hat to protect her pale skin from the sun.

She carried a large zipped wallet in one hand and one of her favorite yellow purses in the other.

The 27-year-old Lizzie McGuire star kept her makeup low key but showed off bright red fingernails and wore one of her signature pendants around her neck.

The former Disney starlet, who has a two-year-old son Luca with estranged husband Mike Comrie, appeared upbeat and focused as she ran errands in West Hollywood.

The ripped denim look is one Duff favors right now.

On Valentine's Day the young mom paired ripped denim overalls with a white shirt and black hi-tops for a supermarket run with son Luca to pick up cup cakes.

Last Thursday, she was spotted heading to the studio with rolled up faded and torn jeans and white T-shirt with the same black hi-tops and a flannel shirt wrapped around her waist.

It's a busy time for Duff who split from former NHL star Comrie, 33, a year ago after just over four years of marriage.

The comedy series, which debuts on March 31, follows a single mom played by Sutton Foster who tries to get back into the workplace at 40 and ends up pretending to be 20-something in order to get a shot at her dream job.

Duff plays a co-worker who helps her keep the truth a secret.
