So here we go again, "this one time in South Town". I think it was a week ago at this point, I was playing in the "studio" and working on new material. It was going pretty good, but nothing mind blowing. Then... "JUST LEAVE!", I stop playing and I'm like "right when I'm playing guitar there's a damn street fight".

Then some guy starts shouting the n-word around and some woman keeps screaming "JUST LEAVE!". Then I guess the guy who was supposed to just leave got into it with the guy who lived at the apartment and the woman keeping screaming "STOP" over and over again ad nauseam. At this point I'm watching from the second story window.

Then I go from the window for a moment and hear two loud "booms". And I'm like oh shit. I went back to the window and as if on cue, a spotlight helicopter and police cruiser immediately made their way to the house in disorder. If I saw correctly someone ran off as the cruiser made its way there. It was too dark to see but it would soon be darker.

I had nothing going on as it was in my downtime and I decided to go to the porch and observe, and I wasn't the only one. I stayed there for so about 30 minutes casually obsering the scene and messaging on my mobile. After things wound down, I retired to my room and was perusing my albums looking for something to listen to.

as I was nose-deep in my collection the lights flicked for a second and the electricity was gone, I was like "oh God not this shit again". I had my mobile with me and used my flashlight app to find my way out of my room and down the stairs. Usually when I turn the lights off in my room I can open the blinds and let streetlight in, but it was dark throughout.

I went out onto the porch to see the bewildered police force with their maglights pointing here and there. Much to their surprise other people soon exited their homes with phone flashlights to aid them. I spent about 5 minutes taking in the whole thing and the street lights slowly flickered back on and soon power came on for the houses.

I went back inside and thought, I know who I'm writing to about this! He'll get such a kick out of hearing about what's happening here while he's been gone. But I soon remembered he's probably not where he was after a few weeks had passed. I'll have to wait for him to write me so I can get his new temporary address.

What a crazy night in South Town.
