Go on my son! Doting dad David Beckham enthusiastically cheers as son Romeo scores for Arsenal's academy in 3-2 victory over Liverpool

While Brooklyn Beckham has been making strides at Arsenal's training academy, it was believed his 12-year-old brother Romeo was focusing on a career in modelling after featuring in two Burberry campaigns.

However, the youngster showed his sporty side on Thursday when he lined out for Arsenal and even scored the second goal in a 3-2 victory over Liverpool at the latter's Kirkby training ground.

Doting dad David, 39 and nine-year-old Cruz were on hand to watch Romeo's impressive display and David could not hide his pride as he proudly clapped and cheered for the youngster.

Clearly not trying to fade into the crowd, David stood out in a flamboyant orange parka as he proudly watched from the sidelines.

According to the Liverpool Echo, David told other spectators that he was 'just in Liverpool for the day' as he needed 'to get back to London' after the game.

Bend it like Beckham in a Woolrich parka

When it comes to being David Beckham, it's a win win. This gentleman could do no wrong no matter what he wears.

Luckily for him, the dude's got serious style too. This classic down parka by Woolrich features the workmanship and materials you'd expect from an excellent, luxury product.

The 'American Arctic Parka' is insulated with duck down throughout to ensure warmth on even the coldest of days. The durable water repellent shell is windproof, dirt-resistant and water shedding, which basically means that it's built to withstand even the most severe weather conditions (hence why everyone in New York should own one).

The hood is trimmed with coyote fur and while we can't emphasize the quality of Woolrich enough, this orange color is from a previous season and is no longer available to buy. However you can click right to purchase the coat in a versatile shade of khaki, green or brown.

Yet if you've already decided that orange is the hue for you, we've selected some great puffer parkas that cost a bundle less too!

He added that his wife Victoria was in London with their other children, Brooklyn, 15 and three-year-old Harper.

Romeo's interest in pursuing the sport comes as a surprise but it has been revealed that he has joined Brooklyn at Arsenal's training academy.

And on Tuesday, he and Brooklyn were spotted having a kickabout on the street in London's Holland Park.

An onlooker told ITV news: 'The boys got my attention because they were so good at football and also very good looking. Then I looked closer and realised who they were, it made sense as they have the Beckham genes right there.'

The onlooker revealed that they were with a man and a woman, possibly nannies, and added that Romeo was just as skilled as his dad and older brother.

Although he is a world-class footballer with an OBE from Britain's Queen Elizabeth, David recently admitted that his sons are embarrassed by him.

And David, who is married to designer Victoria Beckham, does everything he can to make them self-conscious.

Speaking about bringing Brooklyn to school, he said: 'He asked me to park around the corner and he would walk round but I followed him and opened the window and shouted, "Brooklyn I love you!".'

David also revealed he gave Romeo a huge bear hug in front of his friends when he refused to kiss him and added: 'Victoria reminded them they had a cool dad but it made no difference.'

Beckham has retired from football and while he has been keeping busy modelling and promoting his new line of whisky, The Haig Club, he joked he sees himself a a taxi driver for the family.

He said: 'I'm keeping busy. I've become a taxi driver overnight. I'm like an Uber driver. From 7.30 in the morning I have dropoffs at four different schools.

'I pick Harper up at 12 then the boys at 4. Then the boys all train in a soccer academy every single night of the week until 9.30pm. To be honest it's great.'
