Not quite the Oscars! Ethan Hawke helps up Julianne Moore after she takes a tumble in the snow while filming Maggie's Plan

She's no stranger to the snow as a New York resident, but Julianne Moore got a bit more than she bargained for when she tumbled face first into the white powder for a scene in Maggie's Plan.

Luckily for the 54-year-old actress, her co-star Ethan Hawke, 44, was quick to lend a helping hand.

The actor extended his hand to his love interest while portraying a pair of lost hikers navigating the frost at Bear Mountain State Park in New York on Wednesday.

The actors appeared to be making light of their peril in the cold as they both shared a laugh.

Julianne pointed her trusty trekking pole in the direction of one potential pathway, determined to find their way out of the woods.

Ethan took the lead while his reported love interest trailed close behind.

Julianne was wrapped up in a thick charcoal coat, as was her co-star, who propped on a pair of glasses for the scene.

Filming for Maggie's Plan began in February, with co-stars Bill Hader and Greta Grewig present the first day of production.

Julianne began filming just after receiving her Academy Award for Best Actress, and touched upon the 'great cast' in an interview with Extra.

'We're shooting a movie here in New York City with Rebecca Miller, she wrote it and is directing it. It stars Greta Gerwig, and Ethan, and me, and Maya Rudolph and Bill Hader. So it's a really fun, really great cast.'

'It’s the story of a young woman and the joys and pitfalls of trying to make your own way in New York City,' Rebecca previously told Deadline.

Maggie's Plan, which is due out for release later this year, won't be the only film Julianne will be seen in during 2015.

She will return to her role as President Alma Coin in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, which will hit U.S. cinemas on November 20, 2015.

Julianne will also star opposite Ellen Page in the biography Freeheld, which is slated for release this year as well.
