Johnathan Masters (Kevin F Deaton) admits he's not exactly the ideal running mate ? he?s got a string of charges on his record, and pending court appearances on the calendar -- but he is absolutely puzzled by his latest arrest in Kenton County, Kentucky.

The world's most inspiring eco-warriors: Blind man and his sidekick with no arms have planted 10,000 trees in rural China in 10 years

Blind Jia Haixa (pictured above right climbing a tree) and double amputee Jia Wenqi (pictured above, left watering a sapling), both 53, have found a unique way of working together by becoming each other's hands and eyes in the rural village of Hebei, China. Just 10 years ago the pair started working together to create a riverbank woodland and have now planted 10,000 trees. 'I am his hands and he is my eyes,' says Mr Haixia. 'We are a good team.'

Portraits from the underbelly: Beautiful photographs of Spanish gypsies that look like Old Masters paintings

Powerful, eyes fixed strongly on the photographer, and in natural poses and attire, Gonnord's captures the forgotten groups of society who exist on the 'underbelly' of globalisation. Featured are a bearded man gazing powerfully at the camera, (right), a mother cradling her baby, (left), and a boy leaning on a sack, (centre). French-born, Madrid-based, Pierre Gonnord gives a face to insular communities, tribes and clans that might otherwise risk invisibility from the cyber-pages of history. The dramatic images will form part of the photographer's new exhibition at New York's Hasted Kraeutler art gallery.
