The audio launch of Jayam Ravi – Hansika starrer Romeo Juliet happened today (March 12) at Prasad labs, Chennai. The guests of honour were Dhanush and Prabhu Deva. Karthik Subbaraj, Vijay Sethupathy and Jiiva were also present.
Speaking at the function, the film’s music composer D Imman said “I really enjoyed working in Romeo Juliet because after a long time I got an urban based subject and should thank cinematographer Soundar Rajan for the beautiful visuals”
Jayam Ravi gave a brief explanation on the difference between Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet and his film with the same iconic title. Ravi said their version of Romeo Juliet will be a romantic entertainer unlike the older version which had a tragic ending. Ravi gave full credits to the film’s director Lakshman and his assistant directors for their clarity in film making.
Though Hansika wasn't present at the audio launch, Jayam Ravi lauded his heroine by saying “We all know about Hansika and her ravishing beauty but in Romeo Juliet, her real talent will be unleashed”.
Speaking about another heroine Poonam Bajwa, Ravi said “ Poonam absconded from Tamil cinema for some time and now we have got her back in Romeo Juliet, she is playing a never seen before role in the film and it will give an image changeover for her".
Earlier three songs and a brand new trailer were shown at the audio launch. According to the makers, Romeo Juliet will be releasing on April.
