Spoof Cinderella trailer pokes fun at the Disney classic and warns parents it will 'cancel out all of the empowering things your daughter learned from Frozen'

A new spoof trailer for Disney's Cinderella offers a unique take on the animated classic, highlighting the most obvious flaws within the movie's plot and showcasing some of the characters' more negative qualities.

Created by comedy YouTube account Screen Junkies, the clip features footage from the 1950 animated movie, as well as some footage from the newly-released live action remake.

'From the studio that brought you Snow White, Fantasia and the Story of Menstraution comes the fairytale that's been adapted for film again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again,' the commentator jokes, while images of several movies, based on the original Cinderella story, flash across the screen.

'And coming soon to the theater near you, again, Cinderella.'

The video goes on to warn parents about the potentially dangerous messages that the Cinderella story sends to young girls, from the sexist portrayal of the title character to the fantastical way in which true love is shown throughout the film.

'Revisit the animated classic that will cancel out all of the empowering things your daughter learned from Frozen, where girls are taught to be pushovers, do all the housework and that their problems will disappear if they're hot enough to land a rich husband,' the voice over continues.

And while millions of young children will no doubt have been enchanted by the very idea that Cinderella was able to talk to any and all animals, this new trailer points out that, in modern society, her fondness for communicating with all creatures great and small would no doubt leave many questioning her sanity.

'Get swept away by the tale of Cinderella, an orphan girl enslaved to her step family, who's either a powerful druid that can talk to animals or years of being locked away in a castle knitting sweaters for mice have slowly driven her mad,' the clip says, while showing some footage from the scene in which Cinderella can be seen conversing with a group of small animals.

Crazy: The trailer questions Cinderella's sanity, noting that her ability to talk with animals would no doubt be seen as a sign of mental illness within the modern day

'Yep, definitely crazy.'

Even Disney's beloved Fairy Godmother, who is played by Helena Bonham Carter in the new remake, isn't safe from critique.

'But everything will change when [Cinderella] meets her Fairy Godmother, a guardian angel who has waited years to improve Cinderella's life in any way, instead of helping her out when her parents died, or when her step family forced her into slavery,' the video notes.

'Thanks for the dress lady but it would have been more helpful if you had bibbidi-bobbidi called child protective services like eight years ago,' it adds, making fun of one of the movie's songs, Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.

Cinderella's romantic fairytale ending is also given a satirical twist, as the clip questions the validity of Prince Charming's seemingly-perfect character - and his father's true motivation for helping his son to seek a wife.

'Savor the age old love story between a prince who couldn't be bothered to find his own wife and a king so desperate for heirs he doesn't care whose uterus his son uses as a baby factory, whether it's a hermit maid who talks to mice, or just someone with the same shoe size,' the clip comments.

Guardian angel? Even the Fairy Godmother is not safe from the satire and is criticized for not stepping in to help Cinderella earlier in her life

As a final insult to the much-loved Disney animation, the comical trailer puts its own twist on the movie's most memorable original songs.

'So travel back to a simpler time and sing along the classic songs you've loved since childhood, like The Song That Inspires False Hope,' it jokes, before going on to share its own rendition of A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes.

'This song is about deception,' the fake Cinderella sings. 'Most dreams just don't come true. But I am the rare exception, I'm skinny and pretty and cute.'

And then there's 'The Cute Little Mice Song', a more modern interpretation of The Work Song from the original movie.

'We are mice as smart as people, we can kill you in your sleeple, go ahead and tell somebody, no one will believe you,' the squeaky-voiced rodents sing, while clips of the characters hard at work sewing Cinderella's ballgown are shown.

'Watch us handle the scissors, we'll tear apart your innards, stab your eyes out with a needle, watch us get medieval. So don't mess with mice who are as smart as people.'

Last, but not least, there is Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, or as Screen Junkies prefers to refer to it, 'The Oscar-nominated Gibberish Song'.

'Blurpity blurp a derpitty derp a-blibbidi blabbidi blunk,' the Fairy Godmother voice sings. 'Anything rhymes if you make up the words, zlippity zappity, flippity flappity, these writers clearly were drunk.'

Even the movie's most iconic characters are given new names, with Cinderella being re-named as 'I Ain't Saying She A Gold Digger', no doubt inspired by Kanye West's chart-topping hit, while the evil stepmother is compared to 'Bam Stoker's Dracula'.

Her step-daughters are then re-named as the Kardashians, the King becomes The Waltons star Wilford Brimley, Prince Charming is Prince Foot Fetish and the evil cat is compared to former The View host Rosie O'Donnell.

The trailer ends by summing up the movie in one quick sentence, warning parents yet again about the troubling messages contained within the movie's plot.

'Also starring the unrealistic expectations of relationships that girls carry into adulthood, Sweeping Beauty,' it finishes.
