PAW launch event
To launch Privacy Awareness Week, the OAIC will hold their annual business breakfast event.
This year’s event theme, Privacy: living in the future will explore issues around the intersection of privacy regulation and technology particularly the Internet of Things, big data, smart devices and wearable technology. The Australian Privacy Commissioner, Timothy Pilgrim will launch the OAIC’s new Privacy Management Framework and a panel discussion between representatives from academia, journalism and the technology industry will explore the challenges and opportunities facing privacy and technology in the short and long term.

Privacy impact assessment workshop
Have you got a new project coming up that would benefit from the results of a Privacy impact assessment or do you want to know how to conduct one well? The OAIC will be holding a Privacy impact assessment workshop that will give organisations the tools they need to identify when a PIA should be conducted, how to conduct one, as well as providing best practise examples and relevant case studies.
