Richard Madden and Jenna Coleman's romance looked like a real Cinderella story on the red carpet on Thursday night.

Prince Charming himself looked utterly enchanted by the petite beauty, who turned heads in an unusual fluffy-trimmed dress.

The acting duo were utterly besotted on the red carpet for the London premiere of the latest Disney reimagining, playfully dancing and giggling in front of the cameras.

Richard plays the Prince to Lily James' Cinderella in the new film, which hit cinemas on Friday to make $70m on its opening weekend.

On his arm, Doctor Who beauty Jenna, otherwise known as Clara Oswald, the Time Lord's companion since September 2012, made the perfect red carpet date in a little black dress.

Richard certainly seemed to think so and planted sweet kisses on the top of her head as he towered above her with his 5ft10 height.

Jenna was otherwise impeccably turned out and shot coy smiles whenever her boyfriend gave in to the temptation to deliver her sweet kisses.

Despite being romantically linked since 2011, the pair aren't often seen out together and still looked utterly besotted with each other.

Little is known about their notoriously private relationship though Richard gave the game away in 2012 when he revealed that they were together when she found out she would join the seventh series of Doctor Who.

The actor admitted at the time that he was a huge fan of the show and was perhaps more excited about her big TV break than she was.

Speaking to Just Jared recently, Richard gushed about the love story that's portrayed in Cinderella, going gooey over the romance factor.

He said: 'I think the element of strength from unity is something audiences will definitely respond to.

'This is a story about two people coming together who actually bring out the best in one another, and from that love comes strength. Hopefully audiences will leave the theatre understanding just how powerful love is.'

The $95million live-action fantasy is set to hit cinemas in the UK on March 27 and also stars Cate Blanchett, Hayley Atwell and Ben Chaplin.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the premiere, Lily hit back at critics deeming the issue 'irrelevant'.

Stating that children are more interested in Cinderella's morals than her body, she said: 'Why on earth are we focusing on something so irrelevant?'

'I've had friends' kids and a little boy called Daniel, whose nine, who said "it's amazing how you promised your mum to be kind and good and you remembered it" that's the message,' Lily explained.
