She is soaking up the sun on a family holiday on the picturesque Turks and Caicos islands.

And it certainly beats the view of the scaffolding and paint stains at her under-construction fashion offices in New York City.

Sarah Jessica Parker, 49, basked in a scenic locale and put her good humor on show in an Instagram snap she shared with fans on Friday where she is seen far from the water's edge while paddling a kayak on the sand.

The Failure To Launch star donned a black Malia Mills one-piece swimsuit and shielded her eyes from the bright rays with dark sunglasses. Her tresses were styled loose around her back.

The Sex And The City star has been documenting her tropical getaway since Tuesday.

On Wednesday she shared images of spectacular views from the island - a stark contrast to the snow-covered island she calls home, Manhattan.

After a rainbow caught her attention, she posted the photo to her Instagram page and wrote: 'Its just been that kind of day.'

In another image, she marveled at an up-close view of JoJo the dolphin, a popular tourist attraction, and shared the spectacular picture she snapped.

The Atlantic bottlenose dolphin is known as having 'the longest lived human-dolphin relationship in recorded history,' according to the dolphin's website, and he has been officially declared a 'National Treasure of the Turks & Caicos Islands.'

The retreat comes as a much-needed diversion from a week earlier when she was seen spending time at the Big Apple construction site of her SJP Collection offices.

On the holiday she appears to be joined by her 52-year-old husband, Matthew Broderick, and their son James Wilke, aged 12, and five-year-old twins, Marion and Tabitha.

Ahead of the jaunt to the island paradise, she shared a photo from their flight with one of her daughters, writing, 'Spring Break! Could capture only some of the traveling Parker-Broderick feet and most needed items.'

Ferris Bueller's Day Off star Matthew is listed as 'off' through March 21 from his Broadway show It's Only A Play, according to its website, so it is likely that the family will return to their home in New York City soon.

And there is more work ahead for Sarah as she continues to promote the shoe range she launched last year.

In a photo posted to the SJP Collection's official page, she posed alongside a friend who was dressed as a mermaid.

She added a similar countdown message to promote her upcoming appearance.
