Did you borrow those flares from American Hustle? Amy Adams steps out in retro jeans that look straight out of the 70s

She won a Golden Globe for her performance as con artist Sydney Prosser in American Hustle.

And it seems Amy Adams just can't let got of her cunning character in the David O. Russell-directed drama, since she was spotted wearing a 70s style look on Wednesday.

The 40-year-old actress looked like she'd stepped straight out of the film while strolling along Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills with her fiancé Darren Le Gallo.

Amy made he most of her long legs in a pair of high-waisted denim flares.

She paired the 70s-inspired look with a blue plaid shirt, worn knotted at the waist, and some designer sunglasses.

The redhead - who has four-year-old daughter Aviana with her partner of 14 years Darren - went make-up free during her day out.

Meanwhile, it's been revealed that Amy is eyeing up a role in Tom Ford's new film Nocturnal Animals.

The film marks the fashion designer's second directorial effort since 2009's critically-acclaimed A Single Man.

According to Variety, Amy will star opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in the drama, which is based on Austin Wright's novel, Tony and Susan.

Five-time Oscar nominee Amy apparently 'aggressively pursued' the female lead because she was so interested in the film, which is described as a 'story within a story'.

The first part follows a woman named Susan who receives a book manuscript from her ex-husband, who she left 20 years previously.

The second is based on the manuscript itself, titled Nocturnal Animals, which tells the story of a man whose family holiday turns deadly.
