She's a daddy's girl! A.J. McLean dotes on his daughter Ava after enjoying a family dinner with wife Rochelle

Musician A.J. McLean and his gorgeous family stepped out for a sushi dinner on Wednesday.

The Backstreet Boys singer was seen carrying his young daughter Ava, two, while wife Rochelle Karidis followed closely behind on an outing in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old singer - who has been hard at work in the studio recently - enjoyed a relaxed evening with his two leading ladies dressed down in a khaki sweater and camouflage cargo pants.

He displayed his trademark dark beard and shaded his eyes with black-rimmed sunglasses while a matching army-print baseball cap completed the look. 

His wife of three years looked casual too in a cute red and white plaid shirt and skinny jeans with trendy rips.

She also toted a funky leopard print handbag. 

Little Ava wore a striped sundress and pink crocs and her curly hair tied up on top of her head.

A.J, who has struggled in the past battling a drink and drugs addiction, credits Rochelle and little Ava for helping him stay sober.

The family man told People about fatherhood in September, saying: 'It’s crazy! It’s the best thing in the world...There is no more rewarding job - and I’ve been doing this, performing, for over 30 years - to be a father and have a little girl that admires me, loves me, unconditionally.'  

Meanwhile, the Backstreet Boys have revealed plans for new music this year. 

A.J and his bandmates Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell - last released In a World Like This in 2013, their eighth studio album.

As well as a new album for their fans, the I Want it That Way hitmakers admitted they recently agreed to a deal with concert promoters.

The singers added: 'We just signed a deal with Live Nation to do 150 shows in the next three years.'  

The group, who rose to fame back in 1996, were in the UK last month to promote their new movie Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of.

The documentary film takes an in-depth look at their illustrious career, from the mid-1990s until the making of their last album in 2013.
