Jennifer Connelly puts on a very leggy display in chic gold tweed mini dress as she attends Louis Vuitton launch in Beijing

Jennifer Connelly never fails to impress when it comes to a sartorial moment.

And the Hollywood star proved this to be true once again when she stepped out for the opening of Louis Vuitton Series 2 at China World Shopping Mall in Beijing on Thursday.

The 44-year-old was a flawless addition to the event in a very short, smart dress as she posed on the red carpet with panache.

The black and yellow-gold garment in an intricate tweed print flattered her lithe, leggy frame perfectly, with the hemline sitting across her slender thighs with a tiny chain tied around her waist.

The Noah actress added a dash of office-chic to her smart look with a pair of patent Mary-Jane heels in black, adding height to her figure.

With her hand casually positioned in the low-slung pocket on her hip, she looked as cool and nonchalant as ever.

And, as the face of Louis Vuitton, she was the perfect star to represent the French fashion brand as she oozed confidence for the cameras.

She finished her sleek look with a small black handbag held at her side like a clutch, and her raven tresses, grown out into a long bob, looked flirtatiously messy and fitting for her eye-catching ensemble.

Her natural looks were accentuated by her famous heavy brow, while she kept the rest of her make-up pared back, her skin glowing without the help of cosmetics.

Jennifer, who rose to fame as a child star back in the 1980s in hit movies such as Once Upon A Time In America and Labyrinth, proved she has well and truly grown up into a stunning woman.

She has a keen interest in all things fashion, and is currently gracing their Series 2 campaign, photographed by the famed likes of Juergen Teller and Annie Leibovitz.

Louis Vuitton's Series 2 follows in the footsteps of Series 1, which won a British Fashion Award last month for best campaign, and it is Nicholas Ghesquière's second campaign since taking the helm at the French fashion house.

The actress, who is married to her A Beautiful Mind co-star Paul Bettany - with whom she has two children (she also has a child from a previous relationship) - is indulging her love of fashion before she starts work on her next film project, American Pastoral, which is currently in pre-production.

The film is centred around a postwar America as a man watches his perfect life fall apart as his daughter's new political affiliation threatens to destroy their family, according to IMDB.

Phillip Noyce is slated to direct the film as Dakota Fanning and Ewan McGregor will also be starring. American Pastoral is set for release sometime in 2016.
