Goodbye LAX, hello JFK! Jet setter Dakota Johnson travels west to east with her pampered pooch Zeppelin

She has described him as her 'main man' and it seems there's still no-one to compete with mutt Zeppelin when it comes to the affections of Dakota Johnson.

The Fifty Shades Of Grey star crossed coasts on Saturday with her rescue dog who no doubt traveled first class alongside her.

The daughter of Melanie Griffiths and Don Johnson smiled as she stepped off the five hour flight from Los  Angeles to New York with her furry friend alongside.

'I don’t have a lot of time for a relationship,' Dakota told the UK's Daily Telegraph newspaper in February. 'I’m too busy pretending and then I go home and there’s no one. 

Adding that Zeppelin was her 'main man.'

The 25-year-old landed at New York's JFK Airport on Saturday afternoon after hopping on an early morning flight from Los Angeles before dawn.

She was all smiles as she was pictured leaving the terminal with Zeppelin on a leash.

The rising star appropriately chose a mainly grey look with skinny jeans and sweater for the trip, topping off the outfit with a faux leopard print coat to keep out the east coast chill.

Zeppelin appeared completely undaunted by photographers hoping for a shot of his famous owner.

But then again, the Jack Russell-Schnauzer mix has become accustomed to the Hollywood life, even visiting her on set during shooting of the blockbuster based on the best -selling novel by E.L James.

While Dakota is signed up to appear in sequels of the hit movie, it was announced last week that the film's director Sam Taylor-Johnson, is no longer on board.

In a statement released to Deadline, she said '

Directing Fifty Shades Of Grey has been an intense and incredible journey for which I am hugely grateful. 

'I have Universal to thank for that. I forged close and lasting relationships with the cast, producers and crew and most especially, with Dakota and Jamie

'While I will not be returning to direct the sequels, I wish nothing but success to whosoever takes on the exciting challenges of films two and three.'
