Drew Barrymore said earlier this week that she felt like a kangaroo after her second child.

But the ET actress, who turned 40 last month, looked in top shape as she was spotted leaving the gym for the second time in three days after what must have been a gruelling workout.

The mother-of-two emerged from the Los Angeles fitness centre drenched in sweat on Saturday.

Drew's blonde waves were drenched in perspiration and tied back into a ponytail, as she continued with her determined regime.

The Never Been Kissed actress' blue T-shirt was still wet as she stepped outside following the exercise program.

She completed her workout look with black cropped leggings with showed off her slim toned legs, and added a splash of vivid colour in neon green sneakers - with her eyes concealed behind dark sunglasses.

Drew Barrymore is looking fit and fabulous on her way back from the gym in her workout gear. Nothing here looks cutting edge or pristine in terms of sports apparel, but that's not a bad thing!

It's nice to see a celeb who looks like she actually breaks a sweat in her workout gear and that it's been around the block a few times. Unlike Taylor Swift, Drew's not one to try and pretend she bounces out of the gym naturally radiant and bone dry. Believe it or not, but svelte Drew is, in fact, the mother of two young children. So she knows that it takes a serious sweat session in order to help your body bounce back from child birth to your usual physique and she's not afraid to flaunt it. The actress paired her tried and true Nike logo t-shirt with a black pair of Under Armour workout leggings and neon green Asics.

The Charlie's Angels star had a brown carry-all bag over her shoulder and clutched a tall beverage and her cell phone as she made her way to her car.

Drew welcomed her 11-month-old daughter Frankie last April with husband Will Kopelman, who she wed in 2012.

They are also parents to their two-year-old daughter Olive and she admits that her former figure is hard to maintain.

Drew, who rose to international fame in 1982 starring in Steven Spielberg's E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, will appear next in Miss You Already alongside Toni Collette.
