The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) has released Information Policy Agency Resource 2: Open data quick wins — making the most of agency publications.

De-identification resource released

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has now published Information Policy Agency Resource 1 — De-identification of data and information. This resource provides general advice on when de-identification may be appropriate, how to choose appropriate de-identification techniques, and how to assess the risk of re-identification.

Prof McMillan interviewed on gov2.0 radio

The Australian Information Commissioner, Professor John McMillan today gave an interview to gov 2.0 radio about Australia joining the Open Government Partnership (OGP).

Australia to join the global Open Government partnership

Australian Information Commissioner, Professor John McMillan welcomed the announcement on 22 May 2013 by the Attorney-General that Australia will join the Open Government Partnership (OGP). The OGP is a multilateral initiative that aims to secure commitments from governments to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.
