His Lost River colleague Christina Hendricks recently said he needs to invest in a new pair of shoes.

But Ryan Gosling clearly prefers to be a creature of comfort.

The 34-year-old actor once again wore his beloved, well-worn black boots as he left lunch at Little Dom's restaurant in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The Hollywood hunk was dressed down for his meal at the Italian eatery in the Los Feliz neighbourhood.

Ryan appeared hipster chic in a sheer charcoal shirt, black trousers, and a red and beige baseball cap.

The scruffy-faced star accessorised with a metallic charm necklace and was seen tucking his hands into his pockets upon his exit.

The Notebook star was spotted without his girlfriend Eva Mendes, with whom he has a daughter Esmeralda Amada.

But he did have the attention of another female, as Ryan seemed to be noticed by an adoring fan.

Meanwhile, Christina Hendricks, who stars in Ryan's upcoming flick Lost River, recently revealed something about the star that 'would surprise even his biggest fans.'

'He seems to wear the same boots every single day,' the Mad Men beauty told MTV.

'So long that now he just wears silver duct tape around them. I think he can afford new shoes, but you wouldn't know it.'

Lost River marks Ryan's directorial debut and tells the story about a single mother is swept into a dark underworld, while her teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town.

The film is slated for an April release.

Ryan will also be seen in the forthcoming films The Nice Guys and Weightless and is currently filming The Big Short.

His wife Eva seems to be taking time to focus on motherhood and her fashion range for New York And Company, as well as her cosmetics line, Circa Beauty.
