'Viva Mexico': Zac Efron shares sunsoaked snap of himself unwinding with girlfriend Sami Miró on Spring Break adventure

Spring Break is now in full swing.

And Zac Efron and girlfriend Sami Miró appear to have taken advantage of a lull in their schedules with a trip to the holiday hotspot of Mexico.

The 27-year-old actor's leading lady captioned an Instagram snap of their adventures on Tuesday: 'Viva Mexico!'

For the trip, both Sami, 27, and Zac donned his-and-her hats while keeping cool in matching tank tops.

Sami ditched the cosmetics to let her blemish-free face breathe, but added a little glam with two choker necklaces.

The actor appeared to be on vacation when he tweeted a photo of himself riding on an ATV on Saturday.

Zac, whose performance on The Neighbors has been nominated for Best Duo at the MTV Movie Awards, captioned the shot: 'Seeing your tweets. Thanks for all the @MTV #MovieAwards votes!'

The High School Musical star's romance with Sami has been going strong for seven months now, and that may be in part to his girlfriend's acceptance of the spotlight.

In an interview with Elle.com, Sami explained that she understands why people might have a high level of interest in her relationship with the star and has learned to 'embrace' the scrutiny.

'I've never spoken about us before, but, um, it's definitely different,' she said. 'I think that you have to take that [kind of attention] with a grain of salt, and put yourself in other people's positions.'

She added: 'It kind of just comes with the territory, and I know there's no really changing that, so you have to just embrace it...I'm not trying to hide anything in my life.'

While Sami adapts to the new level of attention, Zac's ex-girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens recently revealed to the New York Times she struggled wth his female fans at one point in their relationship.

'Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares. Then I realised that's not what that's about. ''Spread the love, be a good person, they support you, be nice,''' she said.

Meanwhile, Zac's star continues to soar.

The actor has been nominated in four categories at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, which will take place on April 12.

He's also set to star with Workaholics star Adam DeVine in the 2016 comedy Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates.
