She's one of the best-known style icons in the world, and Sarah Jessica Parker made sure to keep up appearances on the school run this week.

The 50-year-old actress was spotted walking her adorable five-year-old twin daughters Tabitha and Marion to school on Tuesday and Wednesday, modelling not one but two chic coats.

Making the most of the chilly New York temperatures the actress showed off her style credentials in a smart belted grey coat and then a blue military style number.

On Tuesday the Sex and the City star stepped out in an elegant grey ensemble, pairing a bell-sleeved grey coat with some rolled up jeans, ripped at the knee.

SJP added a pair of gold pumps and a chain bag, leaving her long blonde locks loose.

Holding the hands of Tabitha and Marion, the mum of three looked in great spirits as the trio strolled through their neighbourhood.

Her girls were well wrapped up for the cold NYC morning in their own cute woolly hats.

Last week the actress was well and truly spoiled by her girls and their older brother, 12-year-old James, as she celebrated her 50th birthday.

The star documented her special day on Instagram, sharing snaps of the family's adventures while husband Matthew Broderick made his way to his matinee performance of It's Only A Play.

She was later seen heading out into New York City alongside her children as they took in the view at the top of the Empire State Building.
