Chile

Chile is a country of astonishing geographical extremes and spectacular natural beauty. It’s an absurdly skinny strip of land that stretches 2,700 miles south from the world’s driest desert to an icy tail just shy of Antarctica. Running almost its entire length are the Chilean Andes, with their famous ski resorts, snowy volcanoes, geysers and impossibly coloured lakes. Below them lie ancient forests, illustrious vineyards, vibrant coastal towns and the modern metropolis of Santiago de Chile. Meanwhile, the south is a beautiful wilderness of Patagonian plains, fjords, glaciers and islands that mark the end of South America. Chile’s attractions don’t end there though: far out in the Pacific Ocean lies Easter Island and its iconic Moai statues, which have mystified visitors for centuries.
