'It's not true': Lindsay Lohan is confirmed to NOT be in a relationship with TOWIE newcomer Jake Hall after rumours claimed they were dating

He made an impassioned plea to get back with his on/off girlfriend Chloe Lewis.

But TOWIE's newest cast-member, Jake Hall, may need to try a little harder after reports claim he has secretly been dating Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan.

In a story in The Sun, it was alleged the handsome star first went out with the Mean Girls actress in February and that they've been in contact ever since, but a romance between the pair has been denied by the Hollywood star's representative.

The source had told the newspaper: 'It's as unlikely a couple as you're going to see for some time. But they are close and that night [in February] was when they were at their closest.

'He and Chloe are an on-off couple on the show but they are both fully single. Chloe is unaware about Lindsay and Jake has been lying to her about getting back together the whole time.'

However, a representative for Lindsay has since told MailOnline that the rumours are false, and that she is not dating the TOWIE star.

'It is not true,' the spokesperson confirmed.

And Jake himself has also denied that they are in a romance, adding that they are just friends.

He told MailOnline: 'We were not dating: we are friends.'

Lindsay has been staying in London since she performed in her off-West End play Speed The Plow. During that time she has already befriended Lydia Bright's ex-boyfriend Tom Kilbey and Vas J Morgan.

And the pair were photographed attended Soho nightclub The Box back in February, though he tried hard not to be identified.

Despite this, Jake has seemingly been trying to U-turn his deteriorating relations with Chloe - and perhaps with good reason.

Earlier this week, in Wednesday's episode of TOWIE, Ferne declared their romance was doomed, scathingly saying: ‘He’s the worst baggage anyone could ask for.

'He’s such an a**ehole, I’ve never met someone like him. He’s called me ugly and sour-faced.’

‘I can still be friends with [Chloe] even though I think he’s a p***k,’ Ferne told Billie. ‘I wish them the best of luck because I think they’re going to f**king need it.’

Jake then made his grand entrance, bowling over to the girls and launching straight into a fight.

‘Stop getting involved. You’re trying to get in her ear, saying bad things about me’, he raged.

Ferne held her own, replying, ‘Maybe you need to get your ears tested', while giving him an impressive death stare.

Jake fired back with a low-blow about her recent split from Charlie Sims. ‘Because you’re single, you’re trying to get her single too', he quipped.

Chloe then make an awkward arrival and quickly turned on Jake for fighting her battles without her.

She was particularly upset when her on/off boyfriend of six years brought up an embarrassing incident from the Wales trip, when she’d overhead Ferne saying that her ‘s**t doesn’t stink’.

While Ferne attempted to play down the comment, Jake only got more riled up.

He fumed: ‘I don’t even know you. What are you getting out of it? You think you’re something special, don’t you? ‘Cause I’m looking, and I’m just not seeing it.’

His cutting comment seemed to have affected the feisty brunette, who looked close to tears.

She said: ‘The funny thing is, I actually thought you might have come over and apologised after all the things that you said.’

An insult-slanging match ensued before Ferne stormed off with Billie in tow.
