She's the proud mother of two daughters.

But Ellen Pompeo carved out time from her bustling Grey's Anatomy schedule to catch up with her eldest child, five-year-old Stella.

On Saturday the 45-year-old actress treated her little girl to a bag full of goodies during a spot of shopping in Hollywood.

Ellen went casual with a dark brown jumper that was teamed with a matching purse and casual sandals.

The Old School actress let her auburn hair fall freely in relaxed and loose waves, with a few free strands skimming over her aviator sunglasses.

She traded in the cosmetics for a heavy pendant necklace that added a touch of glam.

Her little girl wore a playful denim romper, a striped headband, and animal print flats.

While Ellen has enjoyed a successful career in acting, Stella has been drawn to the medical field.

In an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actress revealed in March: 'She wants to be an emergency room doctor.'

Off she goes: Pompeo was not joined by her latest addition, her baby girl Sienna May

'She loves coming to set and every time she comes to set the first thing she wants to do, is Linda Klein is our medical producer...she just wants to go straight to Linda's office and play with all the medical things.

'Yesterday... she was in Linda's office with Linda with a bone drill, drilling a fake femur bone with a real bone drill. I mean she was supervised, but you know they have her doing advanced procedures.'

Ellen and her husband Chris Ivery recently welcomed their second child - a girl named Sienna May in August.
