He became a father for the first time two weeks ago when his model wife Lara Bingle gave birth to a baby boy. 

And Sam Worthington is clearly still in nesting mode, with the Avatar actor spotted picking up a feast to feed his young family in Los Angeles on Sunday. 

The Australian star was sporting a thick beard and scruffy hair as he left a Mexican restaurant with a large bag of food, wearing a simple black T-shirt, tracksuit pants and sunglasses.

He and Australian blonde beauty Lara welcomed son Rocket Zot on March 24 at Cedars-Sinai hospital in LA.

The new parents hit out at criticism of their baby's moniker last week, after social media users and an Australian publication openly mocked it. 

'My sons [sic] middle name IS a respectful nod to my late father, whose nickname was affectionately, Zot,' the Cronulla-born beauty explained.

Tragically Graham passed away from liver and pancreatic cancer in 2008 - the landscape gardener was just 55.

During his illness, Lara was a pillar of strength for her family and spent as much time with her dad as possible.

Lara, 27, and Sam, 38, began dating in mid-2013, before reportedly tying the knot in a secret ceremony in December 2014.

The couple are notoriously private, with the model and beauty entrepreneur offering only the most subtle of hints about her personal life online. 

However, she all but confirmed her marriage to Worthington via her blog website, The Base By Lara Bingle last month.

Writing about a new range of makeup brushes she was road-testing, she wrote: 'My husband is extremely happy because the bathroom now has the beginnings of order!'

She also changed her Instagram username to 'Lara Bingle Worthington' at the same time as reports emerged they married and has continued to go by the new name in interviews this year.
