In a move being dubbed the ‘departure of The House of York’, Princess Beatrice is planning to leave the UK to move to New York – following her sister Princess Eugenie and her mother Sarah Ferguson to the United States.

Beatrice, 26, who recently completed a short finance course at a San Francisco university, is believed to have had several interviews for jobs at capital investment firms.

She has applied for jobs that are similar to the one she had for a year in 2012 at the London investment firm Cabot Square Capital.

The first interview coincided with her visit to New York to celebrate Eugenie’s 25th birthday on March 22. Their mother, whose weight-loss company Duchess Discoveries is based in the US, was also at the birthday bash.

A close friend of Beatrice says: ‘She has had a number of interviews for a similar role in finance in New York to the one she had before.

‘She is open-minded about where she works and is looking to potentially move overseas.’

Beatrice, who is spending Easter Day with her father Prince Andrew at Royal Lodge in Windsor, is also understood to have been looking for a mentor to guide her up the career ladder in the Big Apple.

‘Beatrice is conscientious and talking about finding a sort of adviser to help her find the right job,’ another source said. She is open to opportunities but wants to find the right thing.

‘She works hard and wants someone to help her.’

Unlike her sister Eugenie, who works for online auction house Paddle8 in the States, Beatrice won’t be conducting what is known as a NY-Lon relationship if she moves stateside.

Eugenie splits her time with her British-based boyfriend of four years, Jack Brooksbank, 29, between London and New York.

But Beatrice’s long-term boyfriend Dave Clark, 31, a US passport holder, already divides his time between London, Arizona and New York working for Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic Space flight programme, and will be able to see her in the States.

The career move means that Prince Andrew must now rely on technology to keep in touch with his brood.

Stuck at home at St James’s Palace during Eugenie’s birthday celebrations in the US, he sang Happy Birthday to her via a live iPad app link.
