The were not brave or competent enough to remake it to the standard the original. The original was dramatic, with great theme music and machines that looked real rather than poor cartoon imitations. Beads of sweat used to roll down those puppets faces.

It wasn't just the fact that the CGI means that the characters, machines and sets do not look as realistic as the original. The drama was lacking and the music detracted from this remake rather than adding tension in the way that the original sixties score did. It also missed the stabilising influence of Mr Tracy. Main irritants were that woman who keeps following Alan around and Brains new voice. It wasn't just charm that the original had, it was simply more powerful.
